    NoteNOTE
    The correct address is 14542 Lake St., Fair Haven, NY. Roudabush listed the address as 14555 which is visible in the Ste_1_1 image below, and Palmer as 14545. The 14545 mailbox visible in the IMG_0878 image below is for the residence across the street. The Google Maps street view clearly shows 14542 house numbers on the residence which is confirmed by Cayuga County records. The contradiction may be explained if the cobblestone and attached frame building were considered two separate residences in the past. It appears now that both structures are one.

    Northern-most cobblestone house in Cayuga county, [Colloquially known as] the Jacobs House, is located at 14542 Lake Street, in the village of Fair Haven. It was built in 1860 of lake-washed red sandstones and has five-course brick quoins. It was built by a local mason by the name of DeMell. For many years it was owned by Peter Van Fleet.     The following are modifications of Schmidt's descriptions, made from observations of photographs. The back wall has 3 rows of stones per quoin. The left side has two red stones below the windows. The upper band contains 3 rows of red stones and the lower, 2 rows. The bands are separated by 3 rows of stones with various shades of grey with an occasional red or black stone.
